Stephen Costello is originally from Ocala, Florida, Stephen’s career got its start in 2013 while working in his hometown under Chris O’Leary and JD Kittell at Ocala Tattoo. After 3 years under their guidance, Stephen moved up to Jacksonville to work at the famed Inksmith and Rogers Tattoo Company under Angelo Miller, where Angelo, Mike Wilson, and Clark Seiger furthered Stephen’s knowledge in classic tattooing and attention to detail. Traveling to Austin and getting his back tattooed by Jason Brooks gave Steve even more progressive motivation during his 3 plus years at Inksmith. Stephen was always a treat to work with when he would come to town, and in September of 2019 he became part of Great Wave Tattoo as a full time artist.
Stephen is a disciple of hard work and respect, and it shows. His technical tattooing ability is only outshone by his mixture of artistry, control, and design, and he continues his diligent studies in both American and Japanese tattooing here at Great Wave Tattoo.
